Korat is a cat of small to average size having a broad chest and a muscular body. Soft curves give to the body a flexible appearance. The face is broad and flat and the head is in the shape of heart. The ears are right slightly round and broad.

Head :

Front view it is in the shape of heart. The face is flat. The cheeks firm and are well developed. The muzzle is neither pointed nor square. The nose long, is slightly bent at its end. The chin strong, is developed. The jaws are strong.

Ears :

They are large, broad at the base, slightly round with the end. They are placed high on cranium, in alarm. On the external face the fur is short.

Eyes :

They are large, round and slightly tilted. The colour is preferably of a luminous green. The amber colour is accepted, in particular in the young Korat. In addition, the final colour is not reached before the 2 years age. The arcades draw two broad curves with the top of the eyes.

Neck :

Of average size, long.

Body :

Of average size, semi cobby, neither compact, nor slender. The back is slightly arched. Powerful, muscular, flexible.

Legs :

Legs postpones slightly longer than the front legs. Average framework with strong. Oval feet.

Tail :

Of average length, thicker at the base, fraying until the round end.

Coat :

Hair short, fine, glossed, tightened. Simple fur (without undercoat) which tends to be roughcast on the spinal column when the cat is moving. Colour blue-grey silver (silver blue), uniform. The end of the hair is silver plated, giving a frosted brilliance. The leather of the nose is dark blue-grey. Bearings of dark blue to rosy lavender.

Defects :

Narrow head. Small, little spaced eyes. Yellow eyes. Too long or too short nose. Gripped chin (pinch). Disqualification: all colours other than blue. White spots.

Character :

Sharp, active, very nimble cat and very player, but who likes neither agitation, nor noise. It needs a serene environment. Not very sociable with the other cats, he is shown held with respect to the foreigners. Soft, very affectionate, hypersensitive, he is very attached to his owner. He claims much love and attention. His mewing is melodious. His maintenance is easy. A weekly brushing is enough.

Note :

Marriages authorized with other races : none. A muzzle well developed with a short nose and here is a pretty heart ! This head in form of heart is the "mark" of Korat and provides like a casket for these splendid green eyes. Korat has also an elegant of average size, vigorous and muscular body which ends in a frayed tail. He is an integral refined !
